The River Clyde in Scotland was once home to a number of Crannogs, evidence of which can be found at Langbank, Erskine and on the opposite bank at Dumbuck.
The Dumbuck crannog was discovered within the tidal water of the River Clyde and excavated in 1898. nearby an oak dug-out canoe was found.
